Margie grew up on an Iowa farm until graduation from high school and at the age of 17 took up residency in Colorado. The first job out of high school was in a restaurant in a touristy Colorado mountain town. Second job was with Mountain Bell as a long distance operator. Mountain Bell moved forward with new technology and closed many of the offices. Margie then moved to Greeley and started her career in law enforcement at the Weld County Sheriff’s Office After a short time at the Ft Lupton Police department where she became a certified peace officer she went back to the sheriff’s office and after 35 years and serving 9 years as the Undersheriff retired in 2013. Margie is a licensed realtor with Realty One Four Points. Margie is the past President of many organizations including Kiwanis Club of Greeley, Greeley Republican Women, Northeastern Peace Officers Associations along with a few more. She currently serves as Treasurer for Miss Rodeo Colorado Pageant Committee, again incoming President for Kiwanis Club of Greeley and President of Chapter I, P.E.O. raising money to help women further their education, Margie earned her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Margie has one son, Joseph, an attorney who is partner with the law firm he works at in Denver married to his wife Maria. Margie loves horses and has competed in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Other interests are running in 5K’s and volunteering in her community. As the Project Manager for Weld Project Connect sponsored by United Way Weld County, a one day, one location with 70 plus services to our homeless and vulnerable population held annually
