“It’s much more difficult for a school to nourish a student’s mind when that child’s body isn’t nourished.”
Danielle Bock, Greeley/Evans School District 6, Director of Nutrition Services 2017-present

Danielle serves on the Executive Committee for the International Food Manufacturers Association’s K-12 Food Leadership Council, the Public Policy and Legislation Committee for the School Nutrition Association (SNA), and was a founding member of the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger. She is also an active member of the equity teams for both District 6 and SNA.

District 6 Nutrition Services offers a wide variety of programs and initiatives to ensure every child in the district has access to nutritious, delicious meals that support their health, well-being, and academic success.
Danielle’s team served more than 20,000 meals/day to 94 percent of enrolled students; totaling approximately 4 million meals.

Additionally, she was instrumental in creating programs such as school gardens, a farm-to-school initiative, in-school food pantries, a “culinary classroom,” scratch cooking and replacing milk cartons that earned the District exposure on media outlets including “NBC Nightly News” and Rocky Mountain PBS. Taken from Dallas Heltzell’s Biz West Women of Distinction feature insert 2023 when Bock was honored in Education.

Bock describes herself in her LinkedIn profile as a “driven operations leader offering extensive hands-on experience and a consistent track record in exceeding goals, cultivating growth and delivering sustainable gains” also as “a self-starter with a proven ability to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions. She exhibits highly effective leadership and motivating skills that support the development of cohesive teams in the achievement of strategic goals.”

Three key points you will gain take away following this helpful fashion Workshop are:

1. Overview of school meals programs in D6 and Charters schools.
2. Noteworthy work of D6 Nutrition Services.
3. Time for questions.

…and be coordinated by: Amie Cieminski, Youth Empowerment.  I asked The Success Foundation E.D., Julie Hill – for some information to guide your “giving decisions”:
The Success Foundation’s mission is to build a strong and healthy community by bringing resources together in support of PK-12 education. The Foundation is committed to aligning with the school district’s mission and goals.  It focuses on district-wide projects that provide equitable access, remove financial barriers, and support efforts in preparing our students for success in college and career.
Since its inception in 2010, almost $13 million has been raised.  The Success Foundation supports all traditional public and charter schools (22,000+ students).  Initiatives they are currently supporting where your donations will help include:
* Athletics and Music Program Support – Research has long highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in improving academic outcomes, self-esteem, mental and physical health and developing leadership abilities; The Success Foundation is raising funds to ensure quality programming is accessible to all students;
* SmartLab Project – SmartLabs have been implemented at all elementary, middle, and K-8 schools; SmartLabs engage all learners in a hands-on, project-based approach in which STEM disciplines are integrated
* Career & Technical Education (CTE) Center – offers programs in construction, cosmetology, cybersecurity, teacher cadet, and welding
* Nutrition Services – Food4Success Campaign established to pay off student meal debt and now expanded to include establishment and sustainability of school food pantries at all school sites
* Opportunity Fund – established to help close equity gaps and remove financial barriers for District 6 students
* Innovative Learning Grants – available annually to District 6 staff to support innovative learning and arts projects
* Directed Gifts/Grants – gifts/grants are accepted and directed to traditional public and charter schools for purpose specified by donor
The Success Foundation operates independently but partners closely with District 6 to ensure the funding our donors provide is effectively used to support student success.  Their goal is to help provide opportunities that would not otherwise be possible.  The Success Foundation was originally created to ensure our students had the same resources and opportunities available as students in surrounding districts.  District 6 is now not only doing work equal to other districts but is leading the way in many student initiatives.  The Success Foundation will continue to be an advocate for District 6 and work to understand gaps in funding so resources can be provided for greatest impact.      Members can share 1 business card + $5 or …3 Biz cards and $15. You decide how passionately you wish to donate in $5 increments, it’s your choice.  TY,  we now have a QR code you can scan to donate now or at the Workshop!
