During her presentation she will share the benefits to Massage and Facials while explaining the difference between licensed therapists and student therapists who are available to serve our community.

In addition, she will share information about the all American 95-year-old supplement company called, Standard Process that is available through the Academy. Standard Process offers a dehydrated supplement line and an herbal line that has over 300 products that are grown and specially cared for on American farms. These products are recommended and actually work! Jen will review a couple key effective supplements made especially for women!  “Since the Academy has carried these products for over 45 years, we know they work,” Jen endorses.

Paid Registration is required to participate. Online cost for our monthly (first Wednesday) Workshops ia $38 for Members and $48 for Guests. In addition to learning about the various programs offered at the Academy, Jennifer will share some self-care tips, a favorite recipe, stress relief tips, and she will entice us all to consider providing an opportunity for your clients and staff, by mentioning the benefits of having her arrange her therapists to come to your business to perform healing and relaxing chair massage. Please note that the costs all go towards their scholarship fund to benefit their students.

Besides their two main training programs: Massage and Facials, they also offer optional classes that “anyone” can take which includes: Reflexology, Canine Masasge, Herbology, Equine Massage, plus Exercise and Nutrition (note, some may have pre-requisites).

We will all leave being more knowledgeable about the Academy history and the Mongan Family; Programs offered that include:      750 hours of Massage, 975 hour Massage, 600 Hour Esthetic(facials), Associate of Applied Science Degree. Jen will share Massage therapy stories: Benefits of Massage  (self massage tips); Benefits of Facials  (facial skin care tips); Standard Process (several Key women best-selling supplements); Chair massage events (benefit their scholarship fund); Mongan’s Own Lotions; Stress Relief Tips; Food is health:  2 recipes from Nourishing Traditions Cook book (Jen’s fav)!

Three key points  you will gain and take away from this informative  presentation include:

  1. Self care, don’t put it off. Every day, every week is critical.
  2. Healthy 95-year-old company, American all natural supplements: “Standard Process”
  3. Mongan’s Own Lotions, let’s avoid all the chemicals in store bought lotions

Let’s get to know our presenter –

Jennifer Mongan took over the Academy of Natural Therapy in 2008 and has been running it since. Leaping through Title IV funding regulation, yearly audits, re-accreditations, student admissions, Marketing, management, human resource, instructor and staff hires.

In addition – in 2024, Jennifer helped change the law in Colorado, increasing the minimum requirement for massage therapists from 500 hours to 650. The first change of that kind in 28 years! The Academy has 37 years of Massage Therapy graduates who are out there changing lives thru the healing power of touch.

In 2024 Jennifer launched their newest program of Esthetics. So now, graduates can be “dually” or double licensed. Their clinic offers facials as well as student massages.

In the clinic they have been selling Standard Process Supplements for over 45 years. In addition, Jen’s husband James, has been making, bottling and labeling Mongan’s Own Lotions, license and insurance for over 14 years. They ship it all over the nation and sell it in their building/clinic where the factory is located.

Jennifer holds undergraduate degrees in Gerontology with a minor in Business from University of Northern Colorado; plus Early Childhood Development and Christian Leadership, and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership.

Jen has been married to James, it was “love at first-site,” for over 28 years. Besides being a busy and successful business owner, she is a devoted Mom of 7. Their children; five sons and two daughters – range in age from 11 to 27 years old. She proudly states that she was blessed to get to nurse each baby for their first 2 years.

Jen loves to Dutch-Hop Dance, and she has been featured in films about conserving Dutch-Hop. She is also a volunteer Track Coach for St. Mary Catholic School where all of their children have attended. She is an amazing example of what many working Moms can accomplish, She volunteers in many areas for their school.  This includes serving on the enrollment committee for Saint John Paul 2 High School, where their daughter Emily attended, and their two youngest will attend .

Jen also loves to ride horses, and has been able to pass that gift/passion on to her daughters and currently they are each training their own filly. She is very proud that they share her love for horses. Their 5 sons are very active and enjoy hunting and fishing, and they are active in the local Young Republicans group.

Wendy Castillo, NorCoWIB member and graduate of the Academy of Natural Therapy, who also often teaches for Jen will introduce her on the 7th.

Your generous gift will have an impact!

October is National Domestic Violence Prevention Awareness month; NorCoWIB has supported A Woman’s Place programs annually for 17 years. Women and children who escape abuse find housing safety and participate in programs to rebuild their self-esteem and confidence, which contributes to inspiring them to acquire life skills and seek employment leading to family security. Your gift can help STOP the cycle of abuse.

Your donation makes a difference!   Here’s how it works: This is a Free-Will opportunity to donate $5 + 1 business card, or if you are passionate about the work the Weld Food Bank and Friends of AWP accomplishes – you can donate up to $20 and put 4 business cards in the drawing. At the end of the Workshop 1 business card is drawn and that person will get 1/3 of the pot sharing 2/3’s with these two nonprofit organizations this month.
