Kristi Helzer
Please register before midnight Monday, February 23rd to learn about a NEW Movement in our community. The full title is: Generosity: A Community Impact Movement with High ROI because of Intentional Compassion and Radical Hospitality Focused on Kids & Families

The program will be facilitated by Jildi Gentry, Safe Families for Children Northern Colorado (SFFCNoCo), Community Engagement for Weld County.
Safe Families for Children (SFFC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 in Chicago, Illinois, as a volunteer-driven movement to keep children safe and families intact by providing temporary hosting for children while their parents navigate crises. They are surrounded by a “Circle of Support” comprised of trained volunteers who offer care, coaching and community connections. Keeping children safe and families together. Family Stabilization & Support / Child Abuse Prevention / Foster Care Deflection.
Unlike foster care, the SFFC model is double voluntary—parents and volunteers both choose participation—building trust and dignity while preventing unnecessary family separation. They are one of three active chapters in Colorado—Denver, Northern Colorado, and Pikes Peak—within a national network of 100 sites across 40 states and 14 countries. The local Northern Colorado Chapter was established in 2020 by a former child protection worker who recognized the gap in services for families in Larimer and Weld Counties in need of support systems, and growing relationships necessary to thrive.
This Workshop will be hosted at Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th St., Greeley, CO 80634 on Wed., March 4th from 7:45-10 a.m. For just $38 for NorCoWIB Members and $48 for Guests – you will discover how SFFC is faith motivated and family-focused and how they build social support systems around isolated families who might be experiencing: Homelessness / Unemployment / Medical Emergencies / Domestic Violence / Substance Abuse Treatment / Mental Health Issues / Incarceration.
Three key points you will gain and take away following this Workshop:
1. What Family First Prevention is and why it matters.
2. SFFC is a movement, not a program, and how that makes a difference for children, families, and communities.
3. The SFFC Model – Circles of Support, and what makes them work.Contact information:
