J & T  Feeds opened in early 2002 after working in the corporate retail world for 20 years.  She  didn’t want to start over at another company, so she created one.  It has grown and relocated twice since 2002.  Each move has been a blessing.  If it weren’t for her family and wonderful team we wouldn’t be where we are now.

In addition to a vast selection of pet food for your dog, cat, hamster, or rabbit,  they also carry backyard bird food as well as chicken, horse, pot belly pig feed, and grains for the larger pets.

“I love to give back to our community,” Teri said.  “I have offered so many services in the past and currently – because I feel our people truly appreciate it. We currently offer dog obedience classes, self-wash stations for you to bathe your pet, sedation free dog & cat dentals, low-cost vaccine clinics and dog nail trims all at our location (address below).”

Another way Teri explains how she gives back is by volunteering.

  • I am the board president for Zac’s Legacy Childhood Cancer Fund. We provide non-medical assistance to families battling childhood cancer. As the fortunate mom of two healthy, beautiful boys, I felt the desire to help families through this very trying time. It is the most fulfilling job I have.
  • I have also volunteered with our Weld County 4-H program as a leader, board member, and supporter for over twenty years. Most children don’t know about this program unless they visit the Fair at the end of July each summer. It isn’t always just about livestock; there are many wonderful programs for city kids, too.
  • As animal lovers, our staff works closely with our local shelters and rescues to help unwanted or displaced dogs find forever homes. We also host adoption events, pet food drives, and other events at our store that benefit local rescues.
  • I have been a member of Northern Colorado Women in Business since Kristi launched it in January 2009. In fact, I was one of the three women who talked her into creating this great organization that supports local businesswomen and our community. I also volunteer as a member of the NorCoWIB Leadership TEAM!
  • The 2024 Biz West WOMEN OF DISTINCTION award for Business will recognize Teri Segelke, Founder and owner of J&T Country Feeds, Greeley. It is with great pleasure that Biz West announces the 2024 Women of Distinction. Biz West invites all local businesses to join the excitement of this program; they hope you will join them on August 29th at The Ranch Events Complex for the awards program to recognize the incoming class of Northern Colorado leaders.

Teri is a Colorado Native and love this state.  As I said before I am a mom of two wonderful boys (really men) but they will always be my boys.  Their happiness gives me the drive I apply to life.  Anything I can do to support them, I will.

With the experience and expertise she brought from the corporate world, she was fondly referred to as the ‘Chicken Lady.’  She still is a chicken lady but finds helping the community with their 4-legged fur pets is more her jam.  Teri & J&T can help with anything from geriatric needs to food sensitivities to joint health, anxiety, and allergies.  Helping you navigate these issues is where she truly shines.  “I feel fortunate to be able to help those who seek it; after all, our Fur babies are our family members, too,” Teri concludes.

Success stories

“I have known and loved Kristi since she was my instructor at Aims and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the times I can attend NorcoWIB monthly events (Sue is on a radio morning show at the same time so she can’t always sneak away).  I’ve met a lot of talented ladies and made some great connections thanks to this group.  I look forward to helping you create a great bracelet at the December event!”
