Stephanie Johansen, Community Engagement Coordinator share her Program: Supporting Opportunities with the Greeley Stampede!
Stephanie will enlighten us with all kinds of exciting information. Did you know The Greeley Stampede is a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization? They host and coordinate this annual summer celebration focused on affordable entertainment that brings people from across the country, around the state and pulls our local community together with rodeos, concerts and family fun!
The Stampede hosts the World’s Largest 4th Of July Celebration, a rich tradition dating back to the 1800s. It was christened the Greeley Spud Rodeo in 1922. The Greeley Stampede (2005), also known as Greeley Independence Stampede, is an annual celebration held in Greeley, Colorado. It spans two weekends in July and features Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)-sanctioned rodeo, bull riding, Heritage of Mexico rodeo, and kids’ rodeos plus other entertainment, country and classic rock concerts using three stages, demolition derby, an often televised 4th of July parade. Don’t miss the Carnival Midway and rides, Western Art Show, free stage entertainment, and loads of festival grounds activities, mixed with food and fun. The ProRodeo Hall of Fame inducted the Greeley Stampede in 2014.
The events offer something for everyone at any age, featuring a diverse schedule of activities like those mentioned above. Many nationally known popular artists have launched their music careers on a Stampede stage. The 4th of July parade is a Helzer/Richardson Family tradition and my sons never missed the demolition derby! There’s a popular craft beer lounge, special events, shopping, festival food, and the list goes on and on.
WHEW – we are going to figure out how to pack as much as possible into this 10+ day celebration that culminates on the 4th of July. The “wrap-up” starts with Colorado’s largest Independence Day parade; then the night concludes with a spectacular fireworks show.
Registration for this exciting and informative Workshop is $38 online for Members and $48 for Guests. Online registration closes on Monday, March 23rd at Midnight. We know how busy everyone is right now with all our Spring community activities in full swing, we don’t want you to miss this FABULOUS MORNING, so don’t delay – get Registered TODAY! Click on the Event Calendar and scroll to April 1st & click on that box. We scheduled this program early to give you plenty of time to determine how you want to get involved and support this historic community treasure!
During Stephanie’s program we will learn more about the History of the Stampede, she will highlight their Special Events schedule, we will hear about the Concert lineup and learn secure our tickets.
Be asking yourself: how can I get more involved? More questions to ponder…
What can I do to be part of this event that attracts thousands of people to Greeley?
What clients would I like to treat as my guests to certain activities/events? How can I become a sponsor?
What things will my children enjoy the most? …my grandchildren? …my parents and siblings? …what will light my fire?
How can I get my staff involved? Could there be some stimulating TEAM BUILDING opportunities?
NorCoWIB endorses Community Building, trying new opportunities with the potential to meet new clients, develop friendships and connections that enrich us personally and professionally.
Women participating will take away:
1 How to get involved with the Greeley Stampede
2 What events are available outside of concerts and rodeos
3 How the Stampede supports this community
Let’s get to know our Speaker: Stephanie Johansen

Stephanie has been married 8 years to her husband, Cody and they have three kids: Keeley age 5, Zanna age 3, TK age 5 months. So this is a very busy Mom. The monies donated will be donated to the Stampede Foundation Scholarship program supporting Weld County students. The foundation will award 20 scholarships valued at $2,500 each to outstanding Weld County high school seniors. Since its founding in 2001, the foundation has contributed more than $1 million to educational programs and scholarships, reinforcing its role as a key supporter of local education.
Students are evaluated based on academic performance, leadership, extracurricular activities, and volunteer or work experience. Scholarship funds may be used at any accredited trade school, community college, college, or university. Students can apply through an application available at Greeley Stampede. Your donation makes a difference and will impact the life of a deserving youth.
Here’s how it works: This is a Free-Will opportunity to donate $5 + 1 business card, or if you are passionate about scholarship programs, you can donate up to $20 and put 4 business cards in the drawing. It functions in $5 increments. At the end of the Workshop 1 business card is drawn and that person splits the pot with the Stampede Youth Scholarship program for April. TY for your generosity.
