Crazy for Christmas Cookies @ Miss Mary’s Kitchen

So we’re decorating cookies for the Holidays at Miss Mary’s Kitchen with Mary Roberts and Greeley’s Sugar Artist Marilyn White!

Mary will provide written recipes for the dough and the frosting as well as printed helpful hints when making these fun and quite festive colorful cookies. We will have plenty of networking and girlfriend bonding time while venting our creativity! Even those of you who say you aren’t crafty or artistic will be pleased with your lovely sweet treat work of art!

Mary will also introduce us to her co-owner and wonderful husband Odie Roberts and some other key work/family folks. She will entertain you with a very brief history of their Lincoln Park Emporium building (1909 to 2018), and share some of their accomplishments made during their 10 years of ownership. Mary will stress the importance/value of shopping at local retail shops. We might even get to hear from some updates about Downtown Activities from DDA organizers and supporters who have been instrumental in stirring New Life into our Downtown area!

While volunteering at the Downtown Development Authority  (DDA) office in 2008, Miss Mary and her husband Odie were asked to consider creating a retail shop in the former J. C. Penney building.  They looked at the options and decided to develop a large, eclectic shopping experience.

In 2009 the Great Recession stopped many entrepreneurial start-ups but  NOT Mary and Odie, they persevered.  They created a unique shopping experience you will get to explore on December 5th, the Lincoln Park Emporium -which is in its tenth year of operation. During this WORKshop you will learn…

1. Fun new ideas about decorating Christmas Cookies while meeting the wonderful women from our community who support one another through NorCoWIB.

3. About our vibrant Downtown and realize the role it plays as a major indicator of a healthy community. The future for Downtown, for Greeley, and for Northern Colorado looks great!

Miss Mary’s Kitchen opened three years ago and has just about everything for the culinary apprentice (plus some expert chef stuff too). Anyone in need of advice and assistance with cooking challenges can find it at Greeley’s favorite cooking store!  Located inside Lincoln Park Emporium – Greeley’s only Mom and Pop Department Store!  Shoppers will find furniture/home décor, Karastan® designer area rugs, books, fine bed linens & new mattresses, and the “Made in Greeley” Gift Shop (always eager to support local).  Also, of interest are the collectibles: vintage music, lamps, mirrors, wall art, statuary and antiques – new or previously well loved.
