[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”There are times in life when we come face-to-face with a challenge we really hopped we’d never have to face. A potential suicide is not something anyone wants to think about, but statistics prove it is happening in high numbers – and we want to derail it and save families the heartache of such a difficult situation. This Workshop will help you be better equipped to save a LIFE! QPR is an internationally recognized, evidenced-based program that holds the same certification level as CPR. It also offers continuing education units (CEUs).

Just like with CPR where the general public is educated about the classic signs of a heart attack and then taught how to respond, QPR teaches the general public to know the warning signs of a suicide crisis and then taught how to respond.” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%23000000″ use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_class=”ev_head”][vc_custom_heading text=”Speaker: Kimberly Pratt, MA, LPCC – Project Coordinator, Suicide Education and Support Services (SESS) and Facilitator of Imagine Zero” use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_class=”ev_head”][vc_column_text]Both are programs of North Range Behavioral Health, Weld County. During this WORKshop you will learn…

The scope of the suicide problem nationally and locally. Become aware of the myths and facts of suicide; the warning signs of suicide; how to ask someone if they are suicidal; what to do if they say yes; and about connecting that individual to local support services where professionals can manage the situation.  The Trainee/Attendee/Listener will learn:

  1. To identify and know the warning signs of suicide.
  2. How to ask about and talk to someone about suicidal thoughts and actions.
  3. How to respond to suicidal thoughts and where to get immediate and ongoing support for someone struggling with suicidal thoughts.
