User Description: Glenda grew up in Kimbell, Nebraska, where her folks owned a small business and were involved members and leaders in the community. In fact, her mother was the first woman mayor of Kimball. Glenda was good with numbers and was trained as a bookkeeper in her parent’s auto parts dealership, skills that supported her throughout her college years. At an early age, Glenda developed her strong work ethic, interpersonal skills to be a successful businessperson, and the passion to use her talents for good in her community.

She attended the University of Colorado, earning a degree in electrical engineering. After graduating from CU, she spent 8 years working in electrical consulting before continuing her career at Public Service of Colorado, which eventually became Xcel Energy. She was director of commercial and industrial marketing, with responsibility for Xcel’s largest customers, those who bought between one to two million dollars worth of energy every month. She had a very rewarding career developing new subsidiaries, custom services and contracts, and numerous joint ventures with other large energy users and providers. Her staff and responsibilities covered a four-state territory, resulting in long hours and many days on the road.
After twenty-six years in the corporate world, Glenda retired from Xcel to spend more time with her young daughters, who she had adopted from China, Natalie and Madeline; her absolute greatest blessings! As a mother of young children, Glenda created a consulting firm as an Executive Life Coach, which allowed her much more flexibility for her family and the satisfaction of helping clients improve their businesses and their lives. She also decided to learn all she could about the stock market and investing and after her family moved to northern Colorado, she got her first financial advising experience working for a large financial institution in Fort Collins, where she honed her business skills and became a Retirement Income Certified Professional.

Eight years ago, Glenda and her business partner, Jesse Eves, started Eves&Haines Wealth Management. This boutique firm offers financial advising, investment management, and retirement planning for its clients. She has successfully combined her coaching skills and expertise in finances into a satisfying career, helping many families maximize their assets, set goals, and navigate the important and challenging world of retirement planning.

As a business leader, Glenda believes strongly in giving back to her community with time, energy, and talent. Most of her volunteer work has been taking on leadership and strategic planning positions, which are skills she feels grateful to share with the community of Greeley that has fully supported and embraced her. Business acumen is needed in non-profits, and she loves being able to offer her experience and passion. Glenda has been an officer on the Board of The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra for ten years and is currently Immediate Past President. She recently completed her presidency of the Greeley Centennial Rotary. She has served seven years as a Greeley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and as a chair of the steering committee for the Chamber Leads group. She is active in NORCOWIB, and other business networking groups and loves providing encouragement and guidance to other women in business. She was president for three years of her P.E.O. chapter, a challenge during COVID. When Glenda has a passion for an organization, she doesn’t say no to filling a void in leadership or providing service where they need her talents. Previously Glenda has been recognized by The Colorado Women of Influence as a 2017 Women of Vision, and as the Women Business Leader for Banking and Finance in 2020 by Biz West, and a 2021 Outstanding Woman of Weld County for Business Leadership. Glenda sings alto in the Greeley Chorale and is heavily involved in their fundraising. We also occasionally sing with her husband’s band, “Good Times”.
