UNC – From the President’s Perspective

Andy Feinstein is the 13th President of the University of Northern Colorado. President Feinstein arrived in Colorado nearly two years ago and immediately went on a state-wide tour meeting the university community. He presented to alumni and friends in Denver, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and points in between making it his priority to share his vision and hear as many people’s thoughts and opinions as possible.

The UNC Fall 2018 Magazine told how during a jam-packed Homecoming schedule while dashing to appointments, Dr. Feinstein peeled off his suit jacket and spontaneously joined a circle of dancers learning the rhythms of African Gahu music pulsing through the crowd played by UNC’s Percussion ensemble.

During a 14-hour work day during Homecoming week, he literally went from talking to 500 prospective students touring the campus with their families to engaging with alumni graduates from 50 years ago who were on campus for a reunion.

He meets with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members sharing his boundless energy and just introduces himself as “Andy!”[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

His Ph.D. is in Man-Environment Relations from Pennsylvania State University, where he was also an academic computing fellow.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Point Loma in San Diego, California. Andy and his wife Kerry have a 19-year-old son, Nicholas and a 15-year-old daughter, Rachel…plus two cats, Clara and Bella.
